Boat and crew introductions

I just wanted to give a brief introduction to the Talofa Lee, the captain and the crew.

The Talofa Lee

The Talofa Lee is a 50' bermuda rig sloop, based out of West Vancouver BC.  The Talofa Lee is somewhat unique as it has a ferro concrete hull.  As it's currently rigged, it's sails include a mainsail, a staysail and a roller-furling genoa.

Captain Peter Speck

Captain Peter Speck lives in West Vancouver BC.  A North Vancouver native, Captain Speck has owned and sailed the Talofa Lee for over 30 years.

Alan Donohoe

Alan Donohoe, Captain Speck's nephew, is from Prince Rupert BC and is living in downtown Vancouver BC.  Alan is currently a mechanical engineering student at the University of British Columbia.

Nick Chow

Nick Chow is originally from the Greater Toronto area, but now living in downtown Vancouver.  He is a political science major at the University of British Columbia.

Garrett McLaughlin

My name is Garrett McLaughlin and I am from Pittsburgh PA.  I am currently a graduate student in the faculty of Forestry at the University of British Columbia.

The four of us having been sailing together on the Talofa Lee for almost three years now.  While we have done a number of shorter/weekend trips, this will definitely be our biggest expedition together.
